OWENSBORO, KY — Local community activist, Rheel Lee Goodman, is no stranger to helping those in need. Last week when Goodman saw a group of women sitting on a curb near Gabe’s he knew something was wrong.
“Everyone loves that part of town…it’s so beautiful with its authentic trees. It’s rare to see people distraught around here so I stopped to check on them.”
One of the women explained that they would soon be out of work due to the decline of the world’s oldest profession.
Goodman then asked, “You all know that’s a bakery, right?”
According to Goodman, they all shared a laugh before arranging an agreement to ensure the women were well employed.
